It is with great honor and joy that I share a little of my academic history with you.

I am Rodrigues Delcio Gomes, born on March 25, 2008; this is my academic story.

I come from a simple and humble family. My parents separated when I was a

child. I attended 1st and 2nd grade in 2014 and 2015, supported by my grandmother,

while my mother worked as a housekeeper in Maputo City. In 2016, my mother

started working as a cleaner at Pande Hospital, and I was transferred there and

attended 3rd grade. In 2017, I was transferred again to Maluvane Primary School,

where I attended 4th, 5th, and 6th grades until 2019.

During this period, my mother had a relationship, and I had a sister who is currently 8

years old. In 2020, I attended 7th grade at Palmeiras Primary School in Mambone,

and from 8th to 12th grade, I attended Doane Secondary School. Unfortunately, in

2024, I went through very difficult times after my mother… After giving birth to twins,

she couldn’t leave the hospital and was hospitalized in several different hospitals until

she arrived at the Central Hospital of Beira. She was away from home for a year, and

I had to study alone for a year while my stepfather took care of my mother, and my

siblings were cared for by my aunt. After a year, thank God, my mother got better and

returned home in 2025. That same year, I lost my stepfather, leaving four children

with only my mother. It became difficult for my mother to get me into any university,

but by the grace of God, I received a medical scholarship and today I am part of the

Doctor For Mozambique (DfM) family.

Sincerely,

Rodrigues Delcio Gomes
