We are deeply saddened by the death of our much-loved secretary Dick Schoneveld. Dick had been seriously ill for some time, but he remained optimistic about a good outcome until the very end. Unfortunately, he was not able to win the battle and had to let go of life.
Since the foundation of Doctors for Mozambique Foundation in 2008, Dick has dedicated himself with heart and soul to our students. Nothing was too much for him. He was a great example for all of us; an involved, dedicated, wise, loving, and passionate person. Dick was a man of his word, who always kept his affairs in perfect order. He said what he did and did what he said. We could completely rely on him and we will miss him dearly!
In his spirit, we will continue the work of Doctors for Mozambique: helping underprivileged young people in Mozambique to realize their dream of becoming a doctor.
On behalf of the board, all students and graduated doctors, we wish his wife Greet, children, and grandchildren a lot of strength in this difficult time.
