Doctors’ bull

After all the corona travel restrictions, we were happy that on 4 June, we, Gitta and Harrie, were able to attend the official presentation of the doctors’ bull of four of our students graduating in 2021: Manuel, Simone, Lucas and
Joana. Simone was unfortunately absent due to the death of his father. Very sad.

Manuel, Joana, Gitta & Lucas

Manuel was named best student in the university, best student in Central Mozambique and the second best student in all of Mozambique. He has achieved nothing but nines and tens all his life. BIM bank presented him with a cheque for 10,000 meticais and national airlines an airline ticket of his choice.

Manuel is showered with awards

Partytime

Halfway through this year, we already have six new graduates; three doctors: Felisberto, Jaime, Elisa and three senior nurses: Luis, Patricia and Francisco, who will be awarded their degrees later this year. We celebrated this joyous occasion festively. At formation centre Nazaré, we organised a great fun party for our students and recent graduates. It was a great opportunity for everyone to shake off the corona troubles. Beira’s beaches have been closed for a very long time, which is very inconvenient when you live in the overcrowded slum next door. Our students come from the poorest social class and therefore never have parties. Cake, home-made theatre by the students, food and then music, drinking without alcohol and dancing. It was an unforgettable event for everyone.

Luisa, Joana, Francisco, Jaime and Elisa cut the cakes at the beginning of the party

RESULTS TO DATE

Our foundation has 28 graduates so far. 19 doctors and 9 senior nurses have all acquired wonderful professions. Now and in the future, many sick people will be helped by them. Moreover, we have currently taken responsibility for 32 scholarship students who are all studying medicine.
